GhostPen was born from a real student experience.
It started during finals week. After three sleepless nights, we submitted a history essay written entirely from our own research and reasoning—only to be met with a shocking result from an AI detector:
"89% AI Generated."
We panicked. We were confused. We nearly failed the class.
That moment made one thing clear: AI detectors are not judging truth or effort. They judge mathematical patterns—perplexity, burstiness, and statistical regularities. If your writing happens to be logical, concise, and well-structured, you may be flagged unfairly.
So we decided to fight back.
GhostPen is developed by a student-led team from universities across the United States, bringing together strong academic and technical backgrounds in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and academic research. As students and active participants in real-world academic writing and publication, we deeply understand the pressures around originality, evaluation standards, and AI detection systems—because we have faced them ourselves.
GhostPen is designed with a clear focus on academic reconstruction. Rather than simple paraphrasing or automated rewriting, our engine restructures text to break detector-sensitive patterns while preserving factual accuracy, scholarly integrity, and the author's original intent.
